Belts can be used for all grinding and sanding processes, e.g. with a contact shoe, on the unsupported belt or with a contact wheel, and are distinguished by their high tearing resistance and optimum tensile strength. Heavy, robust, X or Y cloth backings are used for flat surfaces. The machining of flexible parts needs lighter, more flexible backings of J, F or E grade cloth which adapt to the curvature of the workpiece. Belts are used in a multitude of lengths and widths on a whole series of machines. VSM offers belts in numerous sizes for the machining of surfaces.

Rolls are used for all applications in which belts cannot be used for technical or economic reasons. In line with the needs of users, rolls are made in widths of down to 80 mm; under 80 mm wide the rolls are classed as economy rolls. Our range of rolls is designed for manual tasks as well as for use on stationary or hand-held machines. Users can themselves determine how best to use the rolls. The paper and cloth products from VSM lead to excellent results in both wet and dry grinding.

VSM sanding and grinding discs made from flexible abrasives are made in various diameters and with different backings, thus offering users a large range from which to select the best tool for their purposes. VSM fibre discs are the optimum answer for maximum cutting rates using angle grinders. To attach cloth and paper backed discs to the backing pad they have either self-adhesive or hook and loop fastening.

Sheets are universal products for manual work and hand-held machines. Special versions are available designed to work certain materials (e.g. wood, metal, etc.) and users can cut or tear sheets to suit their individual needs. Sheets used in conjunction with a sanding block can be used to form various edge and surface profiles, internally and externally. With paper or cloth backings, the sheets and strips can be used for both wet and dry grinding, depending on the grade chosen.
